Deck Design and Building Process - Deckadence Christchurch

To build well, all parts of the building process need to work, from the initial design and building consent through to construction, inspection and ongoing maintenance. That's why we recommend you let us take care or the process right from the start.

All you need to do is contact us and we can take care of the rest. We can work with you on your ideas to make them a stunning reality.

The Process

Though each project is different there is a general process you can expect to occur on your building project.

1. The initial consultation
We like to meet with you on the site of the project to find out what you want, and from this design brief, how best we can help you achieve it. We establish whether any building and or resource consents are required for the project and what the best plan of action is.
For some projects, especially where building consent is not required we are able to provide quotes or estimates at this stage, based on the information gathered at the initial consultation.
If our client wishes / needs to visualise the final creation we are able to organize a concept sketch of possible final designs at this point in the process.

2. Managing your project
For projects requiring local authority consent we organise the draughting of plans, the engineering and the lodging of consents.

3. Estimations and Quotations
When we have the detailed plans and specifications we provide you with a written quotation or estimation

4. Acceptance
Once you have accepted the quotation or estimation a written contract is negotiated and signed and an estimated start date is confirmed.

5. Project Construction
We manage the entire build including the Deckadence team, the engagement of any sub-contractors, full site supervision and coordination, site safety and any local authority site inspections. While doing this we regularly communicate progress with clients.

6. Project Completion
For us at Deckadence a project is not finished until the client is happy to sign our Completion Certificate and any necessary local authority final inspection is completed.

7. Maintenance
We are able to advise you how best to maintain your building project to keep it looking its best. We are able to perform this maintenance in the future too.
